One week to go before Smallville starts again and I thought I'd ponder some spoilers that have come out during the hiatus
about the first 2 episodes to air in January and write down my thoughts.  SPOILERS AHEAD!

ETA Updated with some more preview images from WARRIOR thx picture Angel.

´╗┐Ep 10 DISCIPLE January 22 2010

Oliver’s (Justin Hartley) past comes back to haunt him in the form of The Dark Archer (guest star Steve Bacic), Oliver’s
former teacher, who seeks revenge on his student by taking aim at Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack). Oliver faces
down The Dark Archer after his former mentor kidnaps Mia AKA “Speedy” (guest star Elise Gatien) but is pushed to his limit
and Clark (Tom Welling) races to stop him from making another deadly mistake. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by
Jordan Hawley (##3X5260).

I like the tag line NO LOVERS, NO ALLIES, NO DISCIPLES because for me it suggests the problems every hero must face by doing
what they do that they can inadvertanly put their lover, allies or disciples in harms way. On the surface it seems like a the "A" plotline is centered around Oliver and his mentor but it can also bring up serious issues for Clark because year after year Smallville has shown that Clark always fears and feels guilty when his secret effects the people he cares about. At the end of Pandora we saw that Clark and Lois are now a couple and at the same time has openly revealed himself to Zod and his people. In the preview trailer for upcoming episodes there is a quick look at a scene where ZOD is standing behind Lois...

Clark also learned that in the future he had gone off on his own without the help of his friends and allies to fight Zod and it didn't work out so now he wants to do things differently. At the end of the episode I'm more interested in how Clark sees things still after seeing what Oliver goes through and of course....there has got to be major kissage between Clark and Lois if she ends up nearly getting killed by THE DARK ARCHER

Ep 11 WARRIOR January 29 2010

METROPOLIS HOSTS A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION — DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ZATANNA RETURNS — Clark (Tom Welling) meets Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) at a comic book convention, where she tells him her father charmed a copy of the comic book “Warrior Angel” and it holds magical powers. A young man named Stephen (guest star Carlo Marks) steals the comic book and develops super powers, transforming himself into Warrior Angel and saving Chloe (Allison Mack) from a horrible accident. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) becomes jealous of Clark’s relationship with Zatanna. Allison Mack directed the episode written by Bryan Q. Miller

From Matt's fancast: Why is Zatanna kissing Clark in the latest ‘Smallville’ promo? – Kassie
Pretty hot, amiright? I won’t get into the why of the “Warrior” kiss, but I can assure you that Lois does not take kindly to the sexy spellcaster (returning guest star Serinda Swan) swapping spit with her super man. What’s a gal to do, you ask? Well, in that same January 15 episode – which takes place at a Comic-Con-like convention – don’t be surprised to see Lois don a costume, à la her Blurry beau.

"In "Warrior" (airing Jan. 29), the action takes place at a comic book convention, where a young man steals a magical comic book, transforming himself into a superhero. Somewhere along the way, this rubs off on Lois and poof, we get the great Erica Durance into another killer costume!"

First off I don't like the idea of Clark kissing anyone but Lois Lane now that they are a couple and colour me surprised that Lois is going to not take kindly to Zatanna making moves on Clark. *takes deep breathe* But after reading the spoilers again the episode sounds like its going to be a fun romp with magical spells gone awry and 'causeing hijinks where mistaken identities and situations 'cause chaos. We know that one of Clark's vulnerabilities is magic and he must get whammied at some point to end up in a sexy situation with Zatanna. Zatanna...I'm reserving my judgement because the last we saw of her in HEX she was openly flirtying with Oliver and giving him her number. I'm sure something goes drastically wrong when she tries to fix the comic book and hence the chaos. The New York Post article seems to suggest that Lois is whammied as well and hence her Warrior Angel comic version of Wonder Woman that she wears. Here I thought she was going to dress in a costume to blend in at the convention to get the goods on Zatanna and the weirdness surrounding Chloe and her new super hero BF. *shrugs*

ETA After seeing the lastest images with Clark and Lois in costume this episode sounds even more fun.  I love the look on Clark's face in the first one.  It's like he's incredulous about whatever Lois is saying or just when he's thought he's seen everything with Lois....she pulls another one on him.  Whether she is dressed like this on purpose to get the inside scoop on a story regarding the convention or just a very jealous girlfriend wanting to expose Zatanna or she's been whammied by a spell pick....I think its going to be a great episode. *grins*

Even though I'm watching to see Clark's journey becoming the iconic super hero and for CLOIS here is what I think the main focus of the episode will be:  Warrior Angel coming to life and being Chloe's hero and love interest which which will then bring up Chloe's reasons for being around Clark and his abilities in the first place and how may finally put things into perspective re: Chlark for once and for all on all levels and have her finally wanting to do more independently even more after this episode. In the end its written by BQM so I am just going to sit back and enjoy the ride.
